Sintered Stone Worktops

Choosing Porcelain, Ceramic and Sintered Stone Surfaces

Start with the product specification, then compare appearance and price. The names used for manufactured surfaces can cover different technologies. Therefore, ask which material and finish you are considering and use the manufacturer’s guidance for that exact product.

Colours and finishes

Compare stone-inspired patterns, plain colours and textured finishes beside your cabinet samples. For example, a polished finish can reflect light differently from a matt surface. Also discuss how the chosen design will appear on edges and across joints.

Brands and material options

Explore the Neolith collection, Dekton collection and Caesarstone porcelain range. These brands and ranges have their own specifications. Before comparing quotes, check that each option uses the product, thickness and finish you expect.

What affects the price?

Material is only one part of a fitted worktop quote. Slab use, edge details, joints, cut-outs, access and installation can also affect the cost. Send a plan with your preferred product and postcode. Then ask for a clear breakdown of what the quote includes.

Care and suitable applications

Follow the care guide for the exact surface you choose. Ask which cleaners, tools and heat precautions the manufacturer recommends. In addition, confirm suitability before specifying a product for an outdoor kitchen, flooring or wall cladding. A material’s use in one setting does not automatically confirm every other application.

Questions to ask before ordering

Which slab size and thickness suit the layout? Where will joints sit? What support and delivery access are needed? Discuss these points with the team before approving fabrication. Also confirm when templating can take place and what preparation the kitchen needs.
