The CRL Quartz range offers engineered surfaces in a choice of colours and patterns. To choose well, compare the exact design, slab format, finish and fitted price. Also, check the current technical sheet and care guidance for the product you plan to order.
This guide updates the buying questions behind our 2018 range overview. Some collection names and colours below come from that original article. Therefore, use them as design references and ask your supplier to confirm current stock.
What to compare in the CRL Quartz range
Start with the look you want: plain colour, fine grain, concrete effect or marble-style veins. Next, compare samples beside your doors and floor. A surface that looks bright in a showroom may appear warmer or darker in your room.
For a veined design, ask to see the full slab or a full-slab image. A small sample cannot show every vein or the scale of the pattern. Also, agree which part of the slab will form the main island or worktop run.
Historic collections and colour examples
The original overview grouped designs into Natural, Marble, White, Rock and Renaissance collections. It named Carrara, Verona and Arctic White among its examples. These references show the range of looks that buyers considered at the time.
However, an archived colour name does not establish today’s availability. Ask for the current product name and code. Then confirm the finish and slab size on the quotation.
Choose a surface for the way you use the room
Think about cooking, food preparation, washing and storage. For example, a simple pattern may suit a busy splashback, while a bold vein can define an island. Also, consider how easy the chosen finish will be to keep looking clean.
A product’s resistance claims do not make it immune to damage. Therefore, protect the surface from direct heat and avoid heavy impacts on edges. Ask about the exact product rather than assuming every quartz surface has the same limits.
Check the technical details before templating
Do not rely on a single mineral percentage quoted in an older article. Product formulas and ranges can change. Instead, use the current technical and safety documents for the material on your order.
CRL Stone provides product documents and care guides for its ranges. Give the relevant details to your fabricator so the product, use and installation plan align.
- Confirm the colour, code, finish and thickness.
- Check the actual slab format and cutting layout.
- Agree edge profiles, joints and overhang support.
- Provide final sink and hob drawings before cut-outs.
- Confirm access for delivery and installation.
Compare the full fitted cost
A larger slab may help the cutting plan, but it does not guarantee zero waste or a lower price. The layout, pattern direction and required pieces all affect slab use. Therefore, compare quotes for the same scope of work.
Ask whether the total includes templating, delivery, fitting, upstands and cut-outs. Also, check any removal or plumbing work separately. A clear quote makes the cost easier to assess.
Look after the surface and keep the paperwork
Follow CRL Stone’s care guidance for the installed surface. Use a suitable daily cleaning routine, wipe spills promptly and protect the top from hot cookware. If a mark remains, ask the supplier before using a stronger treatment.
Keep your invoice, product details and warranty documents together. Also, check which terms apply to your purchase and whether registration is required. An old claim about one warranty period should not replace the terms for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Is every CRL Quartz colour available in every thickness?
Check the exact product with the supplier. Colour, finish, thickness and slab options can differ, so confirm the full specification before ordering.
Will a large slab remove every joint?
Not always. Access, cabinet layout, cut-outs and safe handling also affect joint positions. Ask the fabricator to show the proposed joints on your plan.
Can I choose from a photo alone?
A photo is useful for a shortlist, but it may change the apparent colour and scale. View a sample and, for a strong pattern, review the slab before approving the design.
